This show is for anyone working in or curious about the home service trades, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical. That means business owners and managers, but it also means salespeople, service technicians, installers, CSRs, and dispatchers. Every episode centers on one guest and one story. We cover how they found the industry, most of them did not plan on it, what the early years demanded, the turning points that moved them forward, and the practical tips of the trade they use in their specific role. Guests come from every seat in the business, not just the corner office.
Who hosts the show
Chris Crew is President of The Blue Collar Success Group®, where he leads coaching, training, and live events for home service contractors across the United States and Canada. He spends his time in front of rooms full of owners and their teams, and one on one with the people running the companies.
Jeremy Self is coaching and training manager at The Blue Collar Success Group®. He entered the home service industry in 2003 and became one of the youngest top producing high ticket salespeople in the country, earning Crown Champion honors every year he spent in sales. He went on to hold nearly every senior seat in a home service company, including sales manager and general manager, where he led a multi trade, multi state operation through double digit annual growth to a successful acquisition. He joined The Blue Collar Success Group® in 2020, helped create the call by call coaching approach the company teaches today, and has personally visited dozens of businesses across the country.
Why we make this show
The trades built real careers for the people you will hear from on this podcast. Most of them found their way in by accident, because somebody took the time to show them the door was open. This show exists to keep that door open and make it easier to find.
